D                G        A
Love divine, all loves excelling,

D      G         A          D
Joy of heaven to earth come down;

D             G      A
Fix in us thy humble dwelling;

D       G        A       D
All thy faithful mercies crown!

D               G
Jesus, Thou art all compassion,

D              G         A
Pure unbounded love Thou art;

D     G       D      A
Visit us with Thy salvation;

D     G     A         D
Enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit,
Into every troubled breast!
Let us all in Thee inherit;
Let us find that second rest.
Take away our bent to sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith, as its Beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.

Come, Almighty to deliver,
Let us all Thy life receive;
Suddenly return and never,
Never more Thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve Thee as Thy hosts above,
Pray and praise Thee without ceasing,
Glory in Thy perfect love.

Finish, then, Thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be.
Let us see Thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in Thee;
Changed from glory into glory,
Till in heaven we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

  1. Thanks for putting this up! I’m using it this Sunday 🙂 (btw, I think the first G of every verse’s second and fourth line can be changed to an F#m.)

  2. Thanks for putting some of the older songs on the sight with Guitar chords. We have a hard time finding these songs. We are using both praise music and traditional music in our service.

  3. Third verse should be: D Jesus, G Thou art Bm all com A passion D Pure Un G bounded A love thou D art.

  4. Dear friends,
    Would you be willing to alter the chords to this hymn? Some are truly needing to be changed.

    Thanks for putting it up– pls let me know if you would consider
    a few changes.

  5. I need this in the Key of G major. I have the treble clef but no bass clef in the version I have been given to play for church.
